About Lil' Barnette
Welcome to our petting zoo, where furry friends and family fun collide! Since our establishment in 2022, we've been dedicated to offering a one-of-a-kind hands-on experience with delightful farm animals. Nestled in the heart of Elkton, Maryland, we open our gates to families and individuals alike. Our mission is simple: to share our love of animals with all who visit. With each visit, we aim to create lasting memories, ensuring that every moment spent here is as special as the animals themselves.
​Lil' Barnette is a family-owned petting zoo founded by Kate in July 2022. Since Kate was a little girl, she had a passion for animals, specifically horses. After moving to Elkton and bringing in different farm animals looking for a new home, Kate made the
decision to start a petting zoo called Lil' Barnette. Shortly after our opening our doors, Katelyn begun volunteering to care for the animals and assist at events. As our petting zoo expanded, Crystal also joined the Lil' Barnette team. Sharing a deep-rooted passion for animals and the farm, Crystal and Katelyn became an integral part of the Lil' Barnette family. In late 2023, we expanded our reach by launching a mobile petting zoo service. This service allows us to bring some of our friendliest animals to various events (including birthday parties, school functions, non-profit fundraisers, church events and more). We're proud to share our love of animals and this unique hands-on experience to you. We look forward to serving you in the near future! ​
